OVillage: Minister Bruno Koné reassures of the government's commitment to turning young Ivorians into wealth creators
Bruno Nabagné Koné, Côte d'Ivoire's Minister of Communication, Digital Economy and Postal Services, has been making a series of visits to players in the country's digital ecosystem for several weeks now. The chief magistrate of the Ivorian digital universe has seized this opportunity to talk to these digital promoters and to get a feel for their realities, with a view to boosting the sector. After yesterday's unannounced visit to retailers at the Samsung shopping mall in Treichville, which was much appreciated by all the digital operators in attendance, the Minister for the Digital Economy is continuing his trek. This Friday, November 10, 2017, Minister Bruno visited, in the company of a large delegation, the headquarters of O'village, located in Marcory zone 4. “We appreciate that there are players like O 'village who are making their contribution to the development of the digital sector, without even waiting for the State,” the Minister was delighted after an hour-long exchange with the leaders of this space for collective intelligence and social innovation. He also invited them to remain motivated and to believe in their potential, confident that they will be able to meet many challenges for the nation in future international competitions.
Minister Nabagné, who welcomed the young star up's initiative, assured his hosts of specific government support to promote their project. The government spokesman, whose ultimate wish is to see this kind of initiative spread throughout the country, gave a glimpse of the State of Côte d'Ivoire's firm commitment to turning young Ivorians into wealth creators within the next few years. Cyriac Gbogou, first manager of the O'village center and his comrades welcomed the minister's visit before reassuring him of their determination to support the government in achieving its objectives in the field of ICT on Ivorian soil. Created in 2014 by a team of young Ivorians, the O 'village space ,welcomes an average of 15 young people who benefit from both technology courses and civic values over a three-month cycle .
